VACATION!!

I honestly could not be more excited! I have not seen Landon for two weeks and I miss him like crazy! I will post pics when we return!

I will say this...

Sometimes looking back is so much more rewarding than looking forward in life. This past year has been a very difficult one for me. I felt as if there were never enough hours in the day, enough effort I could put in, or enough motivation to want either of these things. But... I completed it. Having one year of nursing school behind me and only one to go is a fantastic feeling. (I just won't even think about Midwifery school right now, one step at a time.) Above all, I feel really grateful today. I feel grateful that I have the ability to go to school, that I have the means to go to school, and overly grateful for the knowledge and friendships I have gained at school. These people made my first year worth it... we laughed together, cried together and occasionally argued together. I am so glad that I get to finish the last leg of my academic journey with these people on my team.

Here's to a relaxing summer and summoning up the desire to return to campus in the fall!

The "Cheating Gene"

So I was watching Dr. Phil while doing the dishes yesterday and the topic is infidelity. Supposably scientists have discovered that when infants are exposed to higher levels of Testosterone in the womb (which can cause sexual impulses) they develop a ring finger that is longer than their index finger. Immediately every woman in the audience began checking her husband's hand to see if he was a cheater.... so did I.

But all along, I was secretly hoping he did not think to check mine....

My Brilliance Overwhelms....

Landon and I went to Idaho this weekend to get my Dad's truck to assist us in moving out of our apartment. We leave the car in St. Anthony and make the ENTIRE drive happy go lucky. We pull into the parking spot, we get out of the car, we pack our stuff into the hall and then we sit there and look at each other.... because neither of us bothered to grab the house key from the key ring. Yep, we are that awesome. Of course the leasing office is closed, of course the maintenance phone number is disconnected. We finally got a hold of someone an hour later (just in time for the Jazz game) Woot Woot

And while we were there waiting in the disgusting hall, I noticed a few things:

Really? Have these baseboards EVER been cleaned?

Spanish neighbors.... I agree that this is a cute sign, and it sparkles when the light hits it just right.... but it is Spring for heaven's sake and it I can't look down and feel good about my flip flops when this sign is staring me down every morning.

In completely unrelated news, I have been practicing for my pass offs... just ask Landon (poor little guinea pig)

Summer Lovin'

For the past four years one question has lingered in my mind... Where is Landon dragging me this summer?

2007: Vegas

2008: San Antonio
2009: Philly/DC

2010: Idaho?! Yep! This summer Landon is working as a sub-contractor which means we don't have to do the whole summer sales w/an office thing... which means I have some freedom! I am going to be hanging out w/my family in Idaho and Landon is going to fly back and forth from Vegas. I am so excited to have a normal summer again. Float the river, roast hot dogs at the Sand Dunes, and attend the 24th of July parade! Only problem... I might need some friends. Could someone please take me in?!

Remember when I used to blog?

That's a legitimate question and one that I feel I should answer. I have two reasons for not keeping my blog updated.... 1)when I went private, people stopped looking at my blog ( Shame on you) 2)The last thing I want to do when I get home is come up with something creative to write about. All of this aside, I really do miss blogging and keeping an active digital journal of our lives. So... I am recommitting myself. I use to blog once a week, and I'm going to shoot for this goal again. I feel accomplished already. While life has been particularly monotonous this semester with clinicals and school, I was able to travel home for spring break and spend some time with my family. Here are a few of my favorite moments: ♥

Have I mentioned that my family's awesome? And have I mentioned how funny/creative my blog is going to be in the next coming weeks? Trust me... you don't want to miss it (if I haven't already lost you).

Speaking of romance...

I know this is late... but I just could not NOT post about this. For Valentine's day Landon planned a really ♥ romantic ♥ day in Park City followed by a nice dinner for two. As you can see by the pictures below... that never happened. We decided we would rather hang out at home and play Mario with Nat and Justin. What started out as a leisurely, no pressure situation quickly evolved into a burning need to conquer the entire game in one night...

We did in fact CONQUER the game in one night. We finally beat Bowser at 3:30 in the morning before turning in. Romantic? No. But I must say... this was one of my funnest Valentines ever. Thanks Cat Face. (will this post help save our friendship?)
