Around the world in 18 days...

Wow, it has been an incredibly busy few weeks. My sister, Carlie, came for ten days and then my in-laws came for a week! I loved having them all here and got to see so many cool things!

Rocky's workout stairs:

This is the Philadelphia art museum, which served as the infamous workout scene for Rocky. I will say this... they make running up these stairs look a lot more difficult than it actually was, they are really small steps!

Love park:

Sunday we all traveled downtown and got our pictures taken by the fabulous love statue.

Eastern State Penitentiary:
Philadelphia is home to the oldest penitentiary in the US. I was skeptical about touring this site, I didn't think I would like it... but it was incredible. The building is SUPER old and the stories it holds are amazing. This pictures is of Al Capone's cell:

Intercourse:

While Landon was at work one day, Bruce and Di-izzle and I headed to Intercourse to see the Amish turf. It was a blast! Di and I spent all day walking around to the various, little shops. She is a beautiful quilter so we went to all of the quilt shops and then went to a fabulous quilt museum. Their workmanship was unbelievable. When we had seen just about everything, we went on a buggy tour through an Amish farm.

Philadelphia:

Of course we went downtown to see the Historic District while they were here and had an authentic Phillly Cheesesteak from a vendor on the street.

Valley Forge:
Valley Forge is actually only about 5 miles from my house. It's the site of a beautiful national park now where everyone goes to bike and jog.

Arlington Cemetery:

This has been one of my favorite sites so far, it was so tranquil and beautiful. I loved watching the changing of the guard from the tomb of the unknown soldier, and seeing the endless rows of headstones for the soldies who have fought for our freedom.

D.C.:

Last but not least, we spent a day touring D.C. last week. It was amazing seeing the sites I have heard about all my life. I loved it!

As you can imagine, I have TONS more pictures, but just chose the ones that best represent our various stops. I am SO grateful that I have had the opportunity to see all these places with the people that I love. Thank you so much Bruce and Di-izzle for coming down to see me, it was great having you here! And carl... as always, a blast.

They Say the Neon Lights are Bright....

ON BROADWAY!! For my birthday Landon got me tickets to see the Lion King in NYC. It was so amazing! I absolutely loved the show, the costumes were incredible and the music was... SPECTACULAR! We started out the day early by catching the train into Philadelphia Chinatown, and them riding a bus to Chinatown in downtown NY (which is the stinkiest place I have ever stepped foot in). Then we caught a taxi to Times Square to see what all the fuss was about.

Train

Bus

Taxi

And you're not going to believe this... although you probably will, since you have already seen the picture, but we met the Naked cowboy! I have seen him on TV quite a few times, and he was as inappropriate as I thought he might be. It was hysterical though, and Carlie and I were laughing like crazy while we were with him. My husband must be quite the sport to be taking these pictures right?!  I have no idea what his boot is doing... quite shocking

Long story short... the day was a blast and I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to see all of these fun places. Side note: Sure gives me some appreciation for what my life is like living in Idaho and utah. Plenty of area to run around doing cartwheels.

Random Collection of Things

Wow, my blog is neglected. It has been a crazy week in Days of My Life. I flew home last week to watch my beautiful baby sister, Carlie, graduate from high school. I cannot express my loathing of the situation clearly enough. Carlie + graduation = She is getting too old! It was so good to see everyone though and be back in the real world... if only for a moment.

All my favorite girls

These girls are dolls. They all picked me up from the airport and took me to a midnight breakfast for my birthday. It meant the world to me. (Plus, I got some really great jewelery... which made the night doubley special.)

As for Landon and I, we are still living together (albeit barely) here in Philly. The weather is great, sales are good, and the girls are FANTASTIC! Here we are at lunch:

And at a very wholesome birthday bash at hooters:

Some snapshots of me and Landon (because what is a post without them?):

And for the folks who read my blog because you are fans of Landon and not so much Che', he is fancier than ever with his sparkly pearly whites!
