Want some extra C-notes/cash/money?

So lately I have been hearing everyone's fabulous stories about saving money while grocery shopping. I was a skeptic. I have never cut a coupon in my life.... in fact, I used to get super annoyed when they came in the mail. Never again! I have seen the light! 6 weeks ago Landon and I joined "thegrocerygame.com" and we love it! Our first month we saved $236.00! The last two weeks we have saved $153.00. I know it sounds too good to be true, but come on... would i lie to ya? So, out of my deep love for all of you I must share my wealth. Cut coupons, only shop the items that are on sale and have a manufacturer's coupon. You will seriously be amazed at how fast your food storage grows, without spending any extra money! At least check out the website. There are other good ones that I have heard about too: pinch your pennies, coupon sense, smart shopper and probably many more. Whichever one you choose, start saving some serious money! (Don't lie... we would all rather spend our food money on shoes). Thanks Cariann for the initial shove. I should buy you a gift with my grocery savings! If you have any questions about getting started let me know. Warning: Starting the grocery game could and will cause you to LOVE grocery shopping. Frequent side effects are checking the Albertson's weekly ad everyday and becoming over excited for "the list" to be released. Some have experienced shaking and cold sweats while waiting for their receipt to print in anticipation of savings.

Typing as You Talk... not paying attention to you....

So we have this little structure here made up of these parts. One part is called the maculadensa. If you look you can see the cells are large, if they are budding the glumerulus they become very large. Then they come to the distal convoluted tubule. The book is wrong. The point is, that is why they are called the maculadensa. Ok? Kidneys are going to try to compensate, ok, by doing things by the bicarb, then if we get metabolic problems lungs are going to try to compensate from the O2 side. So the places you would get a metabolic, as opposed to a respiratory acidosis... we have too many so they get shoved off to a place where they make keto acids. Our pH is going down, not from a CO2 source, our kidneys are one of the few places where we can make bicarbonate. Kidneys are going to try to compensate by increasing their bicarbonate excretion, but again they might not do that adequately enough, which is why we have all these sorts of problems. That's why you need to know pH or your patients are going to die! Don't blow off pH like it's no big deal, because it's not! If you go on and take pathophys you will see that people can have one or two or three of these at the same time... you HAVE to know how to deal with the pH so they don't die! pH is really critical. I have had students who don't know if your Hydrogen ions are increasing if they are acidodical. I'm sorry, but I'm tired of people not knowing pH!

Two Months in Two Minutes

So... I'm so ashamed. This summer I was a great blogger! Constantly updating, probably never did anything without thinking, "Why... this would make a great blog post!" Yeah! Well, blog slacking no more! I give you.... two months of my life... in about two minutes (more or less, depending on how fast you read, which I'm assuming is pretty fast.)

For Landon's birthday we went to Logan to celebrate with his friends! We stayed with the lovely Cade and Andi and had dinner at Cafe Sabor with Adam and Jasmine, and Mike and his friend. It was so much fun to see everyone and Landon wore some silly hat the whole time. 

During Fall Break we had big, amazing plans. Cruises, trips, flights, glamorous hotels; the works. Well, in true redneck fashion we bagged those ideas and went old fashioned camping. Well, sort of. We stayed in a cabin up by Panguitch Lake and had so much fun! We went on a really great fourwheeler ride and hiked some of the red rock. 

I give you... Hallie. My cousin Kim had her baby last week and she is gorgeous. She gives me baby cravings. She is a dangerous vixen for that reason, but I can't stay away from her. She has the sweetest, fat cheeks. I'm so grateful that Kim lives close so that I can stop in and hold her whenever I want! 

Last, but certainly not least on my list of heartaches... this is my yard! Are you kidding me? I have never seen so many leaves in my life. I am thrilled to announce that we have picked up about half of them, filling a total of about 38 bags so far. I would now like to take a minute for a moment of silence for Cell Phone Fullmer. (Que the sad music...) She was a great phone, always let me know when someone needed me, looked cute and trendy, played funny songs and was always a great listener. I foolishly had her in my hoodie pocket while raking, dropped her in the leaf piles somewhere and we bagged her up and shipped her off to the compost. I am once again ashamed. I will miss you Cell Phone. Thanks for all the good times! 

As for those of you who made an appearance in this post... and for those of you who didn't, but probably should have, thank you so much for making the last two months super great! 

Last, but most importantly... Happy Veterans Day to all of the Veterans but especially to Landon. I am SO grateful for everything you have sacrificed to protect our freedom. You are such a great guy and I am so proud of you and everything you have accomplished!

I do not know where my life would be without him and I thank God for him every night. He makes me laugh every day, and keeps my load light. He is always there for me and truly is my very best friend. Dianne, thank you for having Landon 25 years ago today.... your pain brought me the greatest gift! I love you Landon... Happy birthday!

So... let me start by saying I have a super fun family. It is not unusual to see us singing and dancing to Neil Diamond, dressed as bag ladies (just for amusement), screaming over a game of dominos, Phase 10, Yahtzee, or making random road trips across the country. Therefore, I thought it would be a fabulous idea for all of us girls to go to Witchapalooza at Gardner Village. It was so much fun! If you have not heard of it, it's a dinner-theatre show with songs from the different eras and a handsome heartthrob Warlock. (Who does pelvic thrusts while dancing...) We all dressed as witches and sang and danced right along with the cast. If you have never seen your Mom and aunts do the Macarena...you are missing out.

Geez... I'm looking ferosh! I had so much fun with my family. I know blogging can get super sappy sometimes, but I do want to say that I'm so grateful I was born into a family with such fun, diverse personalities. Never a dull moment... Love you guys, can't wait until next year! 

Things Money Just Won't Buy

Yesterday when I was in my bedroom taking off my makeup for the night, Landon came in and threw a blanket over my head and told me he wanted to show me something. I was annoyed and told him to stop but he just kept ushering me into the living room. When I got in there he kept the blanket over my head and told me to stay there for one second. When he finally took the blanket off he had lit a candle and was playing our song. Then he asked me to dance with him! I just wanted to take a moment and say... I'm so thankful for things money can't buy. Including slow dancing in your living room....

MuCh tOo MuCh To SaY

So... hey there! Been a week... still alive, still well, and still VERY busy with school. All in all it was a great week, I had 4 exams, visited my family, ate Super way too much food, and spent lots of time with my textbooks. I'm pretty glad it's this week now! Well... it seems there is a new "tag" circling among my blog buddies and I have been hit twice. I'm always happy to do these silly things. So, here is that first :

How tragic

Okay, I'm not going to tag anyone, because everyone will get tagged eventually. But... I tag everyone who doesn't! 

So... last week, Landon entered a basketball tournament with his friends Casey, Chase and Daniel (not pictured) at UVU. He was super excited about it and it was really cute. When he came home from the tournament (I didn't go... I thought it would be like 4 hours and he would only play once, terrible wife award.) he was SO excited and told me that their team had won overall, "The champions". They won some T-shirts that they all insisted on wearing to school the next day. 

I'm really glad that Landon has some friends from high school here in Provo. Casey is a staple at our house and frequently stops in for dinner or just to chat. We love him! So we went home for spud harvest this weekend. Unfortunately, they couldn't dig because it was so cold! But it was really good to see my family anyway! 

Ha Ha! Look at the color of Landon's face. I should feel insecure about that, since Mason and Avery both weigh about 15 lbs apiece. 

Here are the little ones in the bath after our sleepover. They are so sweet and I am ridiculously attached to them both. They make me laugh so much. We played multiple rounds of hide and go seek this trip. One of the nights I told them it was our last round and then we were going to bed. When we had finished that round Landon said, "Wait! I just thought of a great place to hide, can we play one more round?" It was really cute. Landon is going to be a great Dad.

Here's our very entertaining game of Balderdash. I'll tell you what, if you want to have a fun game... invite my Mom. Just don't let there be little kids around. You'll be answering questions for weeks! Landon and I took a drive up to Mesa Falls on Saturday afternoon. It was gorgeous but super cold! Mason was loving the snow and collected this little snow ball. He said he wanted to show it to "Grandma Suey". Unfortunately for us all... it melted in the  car on the way home:)
