Charlie G. Clark

Hey Clark fam,
Today i was thinking about Uncle Charlie and I found this really sweet article about him. I thought you might like to see it.  I'm sure you all agree when I say he is dearly missed. I feel like there are two "Charlie's", the one who dons a santa cap and cuddles with the nieces and nephews, who wears too short of shorts and smells like fish, who started "the good grade club" and took me to my first steak dinner (at the horseshoe of course), the one I remember and loved dearly. Since his passing I have become so proud of the less familiar Charlie. The one who wears a suit and works in the capitol! Who touched hundreds of people's lives... Happy birthday Charlie, we miss you.

...TuTu Cute...

So lately I have been getting SUPER bored out here in Texas and decided that I need a project. So... I decided to make tutus for my nieces. Didn't they turn out so cute? This craft should take me at least a couple more days. Then what... any ideas?

The Sport Che is

This is Landon and this is a first time for me on this whole posting blogs.  So for you who know somewhat about our lives, I have a job that requires Che and I to relocate to some random city every summer. It is a great experience for us to visit new places and  is a great opportunity for us in many ways.  There are some hard things about this job. We are required to be out of our comfort zone of Utah and Idaho so it makes it hard on us to be half the country away from our families during this time.  I just wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate Che.  It can be very hard on her being away from her family and she often feels like she doesn't have a great purpose of being out here, other than keeping up on the family blog. She is a true sport about it and she has always been very supportive of the things that I have chosen to do.  How I landed her I don't know but I love her and I couldn't be happier!

Landon's Many Hats

Landon. One word, many meanings. Depending on who you ask he is a son, brother, uncle, soldier, salesman, cousin, student, friend, grandson, husband, nephew, and "that one funny kid." But to me lately, Landon has had to fill pretty much every role in my life. He's pretty good at it too. Makes me wear my seatbelt like my Mom, watches movies late at night with me like my sisters, gives me big bear hugs like my Dad, makes me cinnamon and sugar toast like my Grandma, and plays salon with me like my best girl friends. The other day Landon let me paint his toenails like I do with my friend Britt. At first it was my idea and he went right along with it. But to be honest, he was one of the toughest clients I have ever had. He kept telling me that I had not painted it all the way to the cuticle, and that one toe had more dots on it than the other. It was so funny and I just couldn't not share the results with everyone.

Here is a picture of my foot and Landon's. There truly is "something wrong with this picture."

Oh man, he is going to kill me but I couldn't help myself. Here is a picture of me and Landon a couple of months ago in Provo. I had been studying for finals all day and I needed cheering up. So...I dressed up Landon and he dressed up me! I love Landon, I'm so grateful that he is always willing to fulfill my needs. Even if it does involve a bottle of nail polish or a compact of eye shadow. I'm in good hands...

Chachos, Nachos and other celebrations...

Hey y'all! Once again... it has been awhile since I have posted a "what we're up to" post. Things in Texas are still going well. We have received some serious rainstorms the last couple of weeks but now the sun is back with a vengeance. It was so hot yesterday! Our selling time is actually winding down now with only 6 weeks left. I have mixed feelings about that. It will be nice to get back to real life but we are having a great time here. I can find my way around San Antonio like a pro now-a-days. (It's only taken me two months) Last week was entertaining. We spend about 13 hours watching the sixth season of 24 and are entering panic mode. We don't know what we are going to do when it's over. We also went and checked out this Mexican restaurant that we have been hearing about. It's called "Chachos" and is the real deal as far as Mexican restaurants go. They have a live spanish band and their own policeman guarding the joint.
The "thing to do" at Chachos is to order the "Goliath Nachos." We have heard that it feeds like 10 people. I was a serious skeptic but Landon was a believer. Since we only had four people with us, we went ahead and ordered a "half order."

Can you believe that is only a half order? It had chicken, beef, dog meat (I suspect) and many other unidentifiables under all of that cheese.

Here's Jeremy and Jordan half way through. There was three grown men and.... me. But don't be fooled. I out-ate at least two of them. Jeremy, you wimp.

Success! We actually finished off the whole thing. I felt really sick for a couple of hours afterward. Although to be honest, I don't know if I was sick because of what I had just eaten or if I was sick because of the thought of what I had just eaten. It was like 15,000 calories.

Last Wednesday, Thursday or Friday ( I cannot remember the day) the girls and I went and floated the Gaudalupe River. It was so much fun! It really reminded me of home. The float was so gorgeous! I always pictured Texas as being a big, dry desert but it's not like that at all. Along the banks of the river they had trees that reminded me of Tarzan. You know, the ones where they have vines hanging off of them? I have never seen a tree like that until now.

Unfortunately, there was a casualty of the float. My trusty flip flop that I have been wearing for four summers now was lost on some rapids. I seriously had to have a moment of silence. I was awfully attached to that little shoe.

Well, there you go. Another week down. I feel like this summer is flying by. I feel so lucky that Landon and I have this opportunity to explore different places every summer. I know that it has been so good for us to see what else is out there. We do miss our families and friends though and hope that you all are well. Congratulations Jen and Skip Chris. I am so happy for you! And... congrats on the new house Andi and Cade. We cannot wait to come and stay with you. It's just been too long...
